Pair Charged, Victim Identified In Deadly Allentown Shooting

One man is dead and two more are behind bars following a fatal shooting in Allentown Sunday night, authorities announced.

City police were called to the corner of 4th and Tilghman Streets around 9:30 p.m. on May 14 for reports of shots fired, the department wrote in a release. 

They arrived to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, 27-year-old Jose Tirado-Ramirez of Bethlehem, was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died from his injuries just after midnight, said Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds in the manner of homicide, the coroner added.

On Monday, May 15, investigators charged 45-year-old Adalberto Morales-Ortiz of Bethlehem and 21-year-old Axel Fontanez-Morales of Whitehall with the murder, the department said. 

Both men were arraigned late Monday and denied bail, court records show. Each is charged with aggravated assault and attempted homicide in addition to murder, police said.
